Obituary of Christopher (Chris) Buckle

It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Christopher (Chris) Buckle on January 9th, 2020 at the age of 62. He was a loving and generous husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, co-worker and dear friend to many. Predeceased by his brothers Jack and William, father William, infant sisters: Mary & Christina, brothers-in law Ed Hawco and John Lewis, nephew William C, grandparents: Mary & Joseph Buckle, Christopher & Philomena Fewer. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife (Maish), sons: Chris, Curtis (Lori) and John (Amy), their mother Beverley Buckle, step-son Sean Lyons, his precious grandchildren: Joseph, Evan, Airika, Nathan, Jack, Desiree, Katie and Ryder, his loving mother, Anna Marie Buckle, his brothers and sisters: Mena Hawco (Nick Phillips), Maureen Lewis, Gus (Debbie), Katie (Bill Kelly), Laura (John Devereaux), Madeline (Kevin Myers), Della (Edward Myers), Joey (Tanya), sisters in law Joanne Farrell and Regina Buckle, his furry friend Blue, a large number of extended family members, his Newfound Riders biking group, and an extensive circle of friends Chris was carefree and enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was a dedicated employee with the Department of Transportation and Works for 39 ½ years; took much joy in his motorcycle rides and was fond of his chats with friends at Tim Hortons. Chris was known to many people as a very kind-hearted and generous man, always there if you needed anything. We will truly be at a loss without him. Resting at Hickey’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm – 9 pm. Funeral will take place at 11 am on Monday, January 13, 2020 with Mass of Christian Burial from Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Church, Harbour Main. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Chapels Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in Chris’ memory may be made to Newfound Foundation.
